on Communications/Electrical Towers

U.S. Patent Pending

Typical Tower Guy Wire Installation

Firefly- 7”x3.5” Fixed Model. Cable or SnapFast Clamp

This 165’ radio tower is supported by 9 guy wires (3 inner guy wires 129.1’ long, 3 middle guy wires 158.3’ long, and 3 outer guy wires 193.7’ long).

Firefly Fixed Model’s were installed at 15’ intervals beginning 30’ off the ground along the middle and outer guy wires for a total of eight deflectors on each middle guy wire and eleven deflectors on each outer guy wire or a total of 57 Firefly’s. Due to their proximity to the ground, Firefly’s were not installed on the inner guy wires.

The Firefly’s have orange/white luminescent reflective sheeting on one side and yellow/white on the other. The Firefly’s were installed with alternating colored sides along the guy wires using a cable clamp with the Nylock Nylon Stop Nuts facing out.
